A catch-all mailbox is one that gathers all the email messages sent to inactive addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone miswrites it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Just one single mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and in this way you will never miss messages because the other party has an obsolete address or has made a typo. The disadvantage of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of junk emails, but this problem can be rectified using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also essential to bear in mind that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot redirect incoming messages to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Website Hosting

In case you have a Linux cloud website hosting with our company and you’d like to activate the catch-all option for a given mailbox that you’ve got in your hosting account, it’ll take literally only a click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to achieve this. A catch-all button is available next to each and every email address that you have created under any domain name hosted in your account. You can choose one single address per domain name by clicking on the corresponding button. This will activate the feature immediately, so all emails sent to misspelled email addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking on the button once more will disable the catch-all feature. In case you have activated email forwarding, our system will display a cautionary notification and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature till you remove the forwarding or you can simply choose another mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The catch-all feature can be activated without any effort in case you have a semi-dedicated server plan with us. All the email addresses that you have set up using the domain names hosted in your semi-dedicated server account will be listed in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you will find a small logo conveniently located right next to each of them. With just a click, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your choosing provided that there isn't another mailbox under the same domain with this option already enabled and there isn't enabled email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on an email address and activate this option using the contextual menu that will pop up. If any of the preconditions for creating a catch-all mailbox is not matched, our system will notify you, but will not disable or replace anything automatically.
